Hide the hands!!

Let's talk about one of the most seeked after treatments - rejuvenation of the hands! So many clients invest so much money in their faces and bodies but often the hands get left out of the regimen.

As we age, our hands lose fat and elasticity and in turn, our skin loses volume. This reduced volume and decreased elasticity produces translucent looking skin that will start to form wrinkles and develop age spots, basically the hands start to age and at times hands are referred to as ‘the revealers..’

Our hands can also develop a skeletal looking appearance because of the fat loss in this area which again adds the that aged appearance!

We preach all day long about prevention being better than cure soooo.. here’s some top tips for avoiding premature ageing to the hands..

1 - Protect!! Use sunscreen (SPF50 or higher) and reapply frequently and this is even in the normal sunlight- not just on holiday.

2 - Keeping hands hydrated is the key to counteracting crepey skI’m so invest in one of our amazing hand balms!! They are award winning for a reason!

3 - Exfoliate. Dry skin is dead skin, it only hides that youth glow.

But what if the damage is done… all is not lost!!

1. Profhilo

This is a great treatment to correct fine lines and wrinkles across the hands. Profhilo is made up of an intensely hydrating hyaluronic acid formulation. This then gives the skin the power to retain more water, which helps to firm and tighten aged or wrinkled skin.

2. Neofound

Neofound is a powerful and innovative skin booster containing mixed molecular weight hyaluronic acid designed to brighten, whiten and tighten the skin by targeting and addressing the skin at a cellular level for all ages and skin types.

It’s a perfectly designed mix of antioxidants, anti-inflammatories, low weight, and heavyweight HA, plus moisturisers. It has incredible effects on collagen stimulation, pigmentation, overall hydration and smooths out those fine lines and wrinkles.

A consultation to assess the hands is always advised, your practitioner can then discuss your options and what to expect when you start your treatment.

3. Microneedling

The microneedling treatment for the hands takes 4 to 6 sessions of 30 minutes duration. Ideally there should be a gap of a month or so between every session so to get optimum results. The needling process gives signals to the body to make new elastin and collagen and create a new layer of skin to replace the old one!

4. PRP

We have all heard about vampire facials but platelet rich plasma can also be used to improve skin thickness, overall texture and appearance by harvesting the growth factors and healing properties from your own blood and re injecting them in the hands!

Whatever your starting point we have got you!
